Is the TL team mad that Yusurube got forgiven? I mean, he was literally brainwashed, and he doesn't have MC powers to just resist it straight up.
In the real world, when you commit crimes, even if you do so under duress (and "do this if you want us to treat your dying sister" is duress, as is actual non-magic brainwashing,) you are still found guilty of the crime like 99% of the time, or are found guilty of some lesser offense. (And the people putting you under duress are of course found guilty as accomplices, and also of their own separate crimes.)
This is done for several reasons IRL, some of them practical but wouldn't apply here in this Momo-Oni war where you don't have both sides governed by the same body, but a couple that do apply here:
1. First, you still had some degree of agency. You always had a choice not to commit the crime, even if it meant some consequences for you or your loved ones. Even if you accept the false premise laid out by the brainwashing, it's not a crime to fail to get your sister treated by some terrorist doctors.
2. By committing a crime, you have harmed society, your fellow man so to speak. And you owe a debt to them and should repay it. (ofc, IRL, we just punish people cruelly and the debt isn't actually repaid, but I won't try to Foucault-pill you all. Just know that the platonic ideal is that you have to do something to make it up to those who you've harmed, or to society at large since we are all on this earth together after all.)
Yusurube saying he wants to go visit the graves and face the ire of the survivors and the relatives of the people who died because of the things he did when brainwashed shows that he understands this. Everyone else around him seems to be more concerned with acquitting him than healing their Oni society, which is weird. So yeah I think there's something to complain about here, but eh, it's whatever. At least the guy who's at fault understands it and is bearing some responsibility, even if he's not, like, being sent to do hard labor to help repay for the damages he caused.

As I understand the description of the brainwashing, it programs and reinforces the reactions of the reward and rejection system in the subject's own mind. Convincing them that certain actions are desirable, while others are not, and enhances the sensation of the emotion that comes with the accomlishment of the deed, all while leaving their real self intact. Pretty insidious, really. They become thoroughly convinced that they are driven by their own goals, and don't have a clue they're being used.

I like this progression but I mean...technically he did kill those people under his own will.

The brainwashing was for him to think that his sister was alive and her safety would be guaranteed through it.
Like, let's say for a minute here that his sister was still alive, it's looking like he'd still have done that and it'd just take a threat rather than brainwashing.

Then it sure is interesting how they had that entire last arc so they could procure a person who could find out if he had any agency or not, and then decided that he had no agency whatsoever in this situation, as it was a complete enough brainwashing from very early on.

Comparing this with real life is just ridiculous. Real-life doesn't have supernatural power that brainwashed you like Ukyo's. Also, Yusurube is literally a child, a minor. Even in real-life, child soldiers always got forgiven and sent to therapy and rehabilitation programs. I watched documentaries about child soldiers who got brainwashed by terrorists and committed many murderers. Those children got helped by adults and therapists.

He is a minor, a child. And other Oni all lost people important to them so they all understood his decision to protect his sister as all cost. Some might do the same thing as him if they were in his situation.
