And scanlators without competition don't care about timely uploads.
Dude. Get it through your thick skull. This. Is. Not. A. Competition. People are doing this voluntarily, on their free time. They don't expect to be paid for this unless they are using scummy things such as a paywall (which Mangadex disapproves). Competition implies there is something to be won here. The people doing this just want to either practice their skills or share this manga in their own language for the "love of the game" as some others say. Scanlators also owe you nothing. You are reading this for free. It's basically charity work on their part.

Last I checked, a lot of scanlators do actually ask for payment, not as a paywall, but as a pay to translate, or at least donate. Anyway, what I was getting at was that there are a lot of manga where there'd be one uploader, and they'd upload slowly, but then someone would snipe it by uploading a couple of untranslated chapters at once, and that'd cause the first group to sorta kick things up a notch. Getting a manga sniped can suck, but if it results in people getting to read more of the manga, then it's a win for the readers. Like, Tougen Anki is in a weekly magazine, but we've been 4 months with 4 chapters, with one hell of a backlog, so if someone wants to jump in and uploading 7 chapters at once, even if it leaves a gap, I welcome it.

I think the issue is that he didn’t even snipe correctly like he skipped a whole 20 fucking chapters I honestly don’t think the snipe would’ve been as bad if it just continued where the other group left off but they didn’t do that and skipped to the most current chapters which will hoe most readers and basically make them miss out on a lot of context of the story I’m all for picking up series if they haven’t been uploaded in months but if you gonna skip 2+ volumes worth of chapters is psycho behavior
