It's rare you see stories about this kind of tragedy factor in an afterlife you can visit. It's a poignant theme but silly in Touhou's case as death isn't the end. The big thing is removing the absolute eternity of the Hourai elixir from Mokou. It defeats the purpose if the elixir, but makes for a good story and happy ending.
