Renko and Merry finally showup in this series and they apparently came fron different time or maybe world? Or could be that Gensou town is like Gensokyo where there's an outside world outside of Gensou town. Either way can't wait ti read more and thanks for the translation.

The rules of Gensouchou are different though, because it's not landlocked inside a barrier like regular Gensokyo.
They can go to the beach and even travel abroad. Maybe Merry and Renko are stuck there because they're outsiders.
I guess we'll have to wait for part 2 and find out.

Yeah there's not enough information about Renko and Merry for now. But the only thing I'm sure is they're probably come from a different world and not just crossing barrier in the same world.

Interesting. Seems like Gensouchou is set a bit in past, even relative to us currently, and in an alternate reality. Mamizou couldn't recognize the money Merry had, very little amounts of pollution, kids not even knowing what a smart phone is.

Yes, it most likely takes place in the late 80s / early 90s. It's fun to go back and look through the earlier chapters for clues.
For example, the kindergarten teacher's office doesn't have any computers (Chapter 12), Suu-chan's uncle having bought a new Super Famicom (Chapter 22), and all of Chapter 18 being a 1989 sitcom parody.
