Why does every apocalypse story become about the debauchery of humanity. If you ask me, we're pretty messed up now without an apocalypse and I think humanity is worth saving, else there'd be no one here.

Ya'll should've taken the girl the first time you left. It was stupid to just leave without taking her and then only one of you should've went back to warn the people after seeing how they acted. The whole group shouldn't have gone back and ya'll definitely shouldn't have taken Jing Li with you. That was a dumb move. MC should've just went back to get the girl or sent the old man.

Right? I've seen many authors introduce naive characters into a story and have them mature as the journey unfolds. But it seems that these people are simply immune to learning.

If they had simply killed that guy the moment they saw him (they had sufficient reason, they could explain later), none of this would have happened. They would have had far fewer problems to deal with.

And what was with that awful aim when he "tried" to shoot him at the start? As you mentioned too, how on earth do they teleport behind the MC's group?

It's really frustrating when authors force these situations without any decent development.
