Why do fantasy manga MCs always fall into one of two extremes. They’re either overly apologetic or outwardly rude and kinda gross. I mean I’m generalizing, but I’m just saying all the MC really needs to do here is say “you’re welcome.” Stuff like him being embarrassed at how she thanks him (such as wanting to essentially go on a date) I can get, but when she brings how him saving her for the 3rd time he shouldn’t be apologizing for her gratitude (really that’s just rude) for the 5th time.

Also kinds feeds into why he shouldn’t be apologizing to his bully and abuser for losing a punching bag. After a certain point he’s bringing it upon himself and its rather difficult to feel sympathetic. Hopefully building confidence is a main staying point from the girls training.
