If people are so easily triggered/offended, they should not be on the internet.
But anyway,that content felt kinda forced.

I wouldn't rate this low because of the content. If you can't handle it don't read it. But I will say it has terrible pacing.

There are better genderbender/swap manga out there that won't lead to cutting yourself with the edge of each page you read. I'll save people a lot of time and energy by writing a cliffnotes summary of the first few chapters;

Boy A likes Boy B. Boy B likes Girl A. Girl A knows that Boy A likes Boy B and likes Boy A anyways. Girl A turns into Boy C. Boy A turns into Girl B. Boy B confesses to Boy C that regardless of being Boy C and no longer Girl A, he still likes Boy C. Boy C thinks that he's now Boy C and not Girl A, Boy A will like them instead of Boy B. Girl B, being disgusted that they are now Girl B instead of Boy A, proceeds to mutilate her body.

Everyone's acting like this is so unrealistic to try to pander to the abuse porn market. Guys... shit like this happens. This is the first time I've seen gender roles and power disparity portrayed in genderbend media. Other series in the genderbend category are saccharine to the point of absurdity when dealing with this topic. Not all parts of the female experience are beach episodes and coffee shops, especially when it comes to goddamned high schoolers.

There's the Sexual Violence tag on this for a reason
though this is a rare series where it is shown to be the horrific crime that it is instead of an opportunity to throw panty shots

It feels unrealistic only because of its premise, and I was almost turned away by it. A lot of really specific premises like this one tend to be that way solely to give way to the actual discussion and commentary the work tries to make, and once I could properly look at it that way, it makes a lot more sense. It takes a very pessimistic viewpoint on the topic, but I think that's for an important reason in painting the picture of gender dysphoria and the impact strong gender roles can have on a society. Especially as someone who has felt similar things on a much weaker level, it definitely hits on an area of my former anxiety.

Edit: my word choice in one sentence was really unfitting for the context of both the comment and the manga. Sorry.

How can folks rate this so poorly? IT'S GOOD. Easily an 8.5

Sure, sexual violence and mutilation is a hard pill to swallow, but the characters are vivid and thought provoking, while the story and their interactions are enthralling and visceral!

I myself am in the LGBT crowd, so I can tell you right now that a gay person is NOT a trans person - and this manga actually gets that right!! From Japan, that in my mind, is incredibly rare. Yes - what s/he does is stomach churning, YES it's disturbing - but that's how people with gender dysphoria *actually* feel! There's a reason why untreated trans people have such a high suicide rate, sometimes as high as 70%! This morbid side of the japanese lgbt community is so VERY overlooked in manga, as people tend to take what's in manga as fiction... regardless of its content or social commentary; so the fact this gets more representation over there is a good thing.

Hesitating because of the Sexual Violence tag, was it a one time thing or recurring?

YO! Forewarning to those that might have body gender dysmorphia problems or self-harm problems. Please be careful if deciding to pick this manga up. It can prompt a lot of negative feelings in both regards.

As a lesbo, I can say this can be very triggering,, but points were made. This is better than most gender benders but a lot is tbh. Probably a 7/10 just be careful if you don't have a strong stomach
