Translation tools?

Didn't know where to post this.

I've been meaning to translate a manga but well, I don't know Japanese. Yeah, that might be a problem.

So like, are there any website/app(preferably works on iOS 9) that I should know of. I'm mostly looking for a translator that works better than google if there is any. Thank you.

I'd love to be able to recommend something, but for Japanese to English, machine translation is just not great. The biggest problem is the difference in how the language is structured. Japanese uses a very different sentence structure and also has a system where assumed details are often omitted. It also relies a lot on context, which machine translation systems can be quite bad to pick up on. A single kanji character might have 4 or more meanings, that change depending on what's around it.
With a little bit of studying, you might be able to use machine translations to help out, but you'd really need to at least learn some basics to really get a good grasp of it.
As for what works best, assuming you cover some of the basics, google translate is probably one of the better options for translating sentences, if you know enough to re-arrange things and fill in the blanks. For looking up kanji, I find jisho.org quite handy, as you can copy/paste into it (for sources you can copy from) and you can look up kanji by radical, so you select the parts of shapes that appear and it narrows it down to find the correct one. That's my personal recommendation, but there may be better options out there.

There's tools to help you to get those Japanese text out I forgot what it was I use it to ensure people reading the translated text to see comparisons and QC.

For machine translation, no there isn't any.
Your only options are
- Learn Japanese
- Learn kana, hiragana, expression, then Kanji details on Jisho perhaps some example there as well in the internet
- Use a grammar fixing web/tools
- Then make sure if the Japanese translation is either formal/informal so that grammar fixing tools doesn't sound very rough.
- In case of experience, you should try comparing it with some official translation and fan translation.

Overtime it would be worth it.

There is an app called screen translate that might help
That app will give you tonight translations with grammatical errors

Sorry, but you're just better off just learning Japanese yourself. Machine translation is not reliable at all, and should only be used if you already have a grasp on the language. It can only get you so far.

But if you know the basics of Japanese then here are some sites I recommend:
Wiktionary: like Wikipedia, but it's a dictionary, gives you information on Japanese words, verbs, and kanji/kanji readings.
Jisho: Another dictionary, but dedicated to Japanese and is a lot more efficient; you can put a whole sentence and gives you in depth information on each individual word.
Reverso Context: Shows you how phrases and words would be used in a sentence.

I'm not a pro in the slightest, but these are still pretty useful for me.
