She was a two-bit villain. I don't care about sisterly love, she was an invader and by all accounts one who wasn't justified in her invasion. Also she was incredibly annoying just like all the rest of these characters (well except for the two lady leads) so I don't know why the story expects me to feel bad.

It's a fair conclusion to make. In terms of just making shit up on a personal level, a bunch of countries have more or less complete freedom. There are some laws against making up harmful and defamatory stuff. I think one of the main problems with USA is how, as a capitalistic country, everything is ruled by money, which means large corporations, often at the expense of people. There's also censorship on cursing, nudity, and other things. All in all, it's an extensive topic.

It is war and war is dumb like that. Hell it was the principality that attacked the kingdoms people, defected, and declared independence and then over the generations fed kids propaganda on how they were the victims. You know, like what actually happens in real life, since people wage wars and kill others because in their eyes they are the gold guys. Do you logically think a terrorist/solider would: 1 kill innocents for the sake of killing, or 2 kill because they think of themselves as the good guys fighting for what they believe in

And Livia's happy speech is a form of mind control magic. Even though she has good intentions she essentially brainwashed and emotionally controlled everyone to give up fighting and not feel any negative emotions, to the point you can't feel sad even when having loved ones literally die in your arms. Hertrude is still able to think and process everything mentally so even if she can't feel sad she still wants to do something. And Vindel is immune to Livia's mind controlling magic due to the cursed mecha suit
