I can't find it out. The knives curved and magnet cant possibly do that since a knife went to his head and magnets would be a huge dissapoinetment. If I trust the devil's word and believe it isnt strings then it's probably staged and Hegla was part of it at Chapter 13

Mirrors or something simpler?
The trick is in the direction change, and the disguise is similar to a vfx artist hiding a cut/transition in an action.
Knives fly out at high speeds (could use magnets to disguise levitation) and fly into the wooden viewing stands, and is replaced by knives thrown directly at the target (old man) from the stands
the transition between the two could be hidden by a well placed mirror

Even if this wasn't it, the most suspicious things are:
1. He always performs this trick with lots of followers/people around
2. He always has a clear indicated target (misdirection?), located within an area he controls (his house)
3. He always throws the knives from afar
4. In this chapter he had 8 knives floating around him, but only 7 hit the old man

Isekai tropes are Isekai tropes.
The whole draw of the series is "magic tricks" that are based on actual stage tricks with a bit of embellishment, super human skill and "silliness" to make it work on the fly as a solution to conflict.

Don't dismiss my disappointment because "look at all the other ridiculous things like chocolate and all the pretty girls and transporting to another world" -
Yea, it would be a better series without those things. The saving grace was the "tricks" which are now so ridiculous they are basically dragons turning into lolis level of crazy - LAST STRAW.

I make a big deal about the tricks specifically, because its literally the only thing unique\non-trope about the series. The tricks deserved care and respect to elevate this series up from the other isekai trash.
I gave some liberties, but this is beyond my "SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF".

Which is entirely personal by the way and my opinion.
The author ruined his series by taking 0 care with how the magic tricks are planned out and executed.
It was a trash isekai with an interesting method of conflict resolution - now its a trash isekai with trash on the side.

@Liquidxlax Castles near a forest? Normally your forest would be about half a kilometer away at the closest IF YOUR AN IDIOT.
Imagine just giving your enemies a defensible location to set up trebuchets and free lumber to build fortifications and ladders.

Remind me what your complaint was about again? Lol.

@Sonaldo I'm enjoying the series for what it is but I can't disagree with @Spoonikle complaint about many of the tricks. In this one for ex we're expected to buy that they could set that trick up which took x amount of time in a area near the front of the *entrance* at a point in the set up and not one person who say needed to leave early or any other number of reasons spotted some funny looking outsiders up to something fishy. I believe if it spent more time per ch or even at least one ch dedicated to seeing the trick set up in real time sneaking around avoiding people etc instead of a somewhat glossed over afterthought people would complain less about them not being able to force their suspension of disbelief enough to get invested in what feels like stuff working out perfectly just because the author needs it to and not being able to get into the story as a result of the glaring flaw.

Yes. Because it's called suspension of disbelief

From Wikipedia, "Suspension of disbelief, sometimes called willing suspension of disbelief, is the intentional avoidance of critical thinking or logic in examining something surreal, such as a work of speculative fiction, in order to believe it for the sake of enjoyment."

Like cmon mate. In a series where a magician gets magically transported to the middle ages German and understood the language and accent without literally any trouble, the setup for this trick is what you're speculating on? Time travel is fine but you can't believe that literally the greatest magician in the modern time wouldn't have enough time and sources to set up this trick? Yeah sure.

? What? xD
What was the point of writing out what it means when we both are aware of it already? My point was that some people are unwilling to let their suspension of disbelief go that far when it reaches the point it takes them out of the story due to a very blunt plot hole. It's not hard to think why should I be invested in these tricks, this manga's biggest selling point (in the sense of what makes it stand out), when the execution of some is so questionable you'd have to be in a coma not to notice things everywhere to nitpick. I personally can roll with quite a lot and don't even care much but I can also acknowledge and understand why other peeps are like nah fam wtf I out.

Again ?. You think this is the only trick I've speculated on? I was replaying to your and the other peep's conversation did ya also want me to write a essay on ALL the things that I think are handled not so great instead of staying on point with what you 2 were saying? xD Also you're messing a very big point... the means of how he got to that world are fantastical and as of yet completely unknown and I don't see any problem with that. I can suspend my belief easily because there's no info about how that happened yet meaning there's no info we're given to nitpick or question the logic of. That however is the only fantasy anything in the whole series so far based on some historical facts it tries to present among other things to make it clear that it's trying to portray the world he's in as a non magical realistic one on the whole. (well, not incredibly realistic because of some characters but for the world itself yes) My ramble is basically trying to say that with the context of the world's logic it makes the holes worse because the suspense people give fantasy worlds is far greater than "historical worlds" were it's harder for people to buy things simply because with a better understanding of it compared to hey look dragons! :D there's more holes to be found.
And no. Why would I believe that being the very best like there never was! :D has ANY correlation to how much time he has in any given situation to get things done and sources which no longer have anything to do with the modern era and instead depend mostly on what he has at any given time in that old a$$ world? He has experience and his "staff" are basically superhuman at their craft which would certainly speed things up but they sadly lack the true superpowers to be THAT efficient. Less peeps would care about any of that if we actually SAW how everything went down WHILE it was going down instead of everything being reveled and seemingly having gone exactly juuuust~ in a few pages. rn all the tricks executions feel way too convenient to work with the world's own currently established logic without a hiccup of some sort.

Dam this be long I'm waaaay too bored tonight.... btw as ranty as this long a$$ ramble sounds I actually don't care enough about this manga's shortcomings to stop reading it or enjoying it. It's just a cute lil' manga with waifus and that's all it has to be for me. .....Pizza time! <3

Imagine looking at comment section for spoiler or a innocwnt discussion of what the trick is but instead find autists raging at isekai.

Never tell how a magic trick is done and never tell what the magic trick is lol. Watched bunch of magicians (Penn & Teller mostly) break those rules and they still baffle me xd.

Okay people don't get pressed about them making it suspenseful saying you already know the trick, not all of us have a brain that can calculate each variable and puzzle
