In America? Yes. In Japan? Lol.In real world it would be like:
Justified self-defence, case dismissed.
Yeah, only in America and first world western country. In most countries however...In America? Yes. In Japan? Lol.
Japan has an extremely high conviction rate. It is so high in fact that as soon as you are arrested, you are pressumed guilty. The conviction rate is so high that there are stories of prosecutors having to do public apologies for failing to get a guilty verdict. In real world it would be like:

Yeah, if they called the cops she would only be charged with accidental manslaughter which would be revoked once the investigation proved her story of it being an act of self defence due to perceived great risk of harm to self (aka she was scared she was going to be killed snd retaliated resulting in his death trying to save herself). It would never go public and at most the court would just require her to go to therapy for 6 months which would be paid for with federal funds.Article 36 of Japanese Penal Code:
"(1)An act a person was compelled to take to protect the rights of oneself or any other person against imminent and unlawful infringement is not punishable.
(2)An act exceeding the limits of self-defense may lead to the punishment being reduced or may exculpate the offender in light of the circumstances."
Mind you, her major reason to get arrested is to make the other girl feel guilt and stay by her side forever. So if she even tell partially truth (she just protecting her friend resulted in homicide), her action of hiding the body still need to be punished.
One of the reasons the conviction rate is high is that the prosecutors only issue warrants when they are certain that the suspect will be found guilty. If they aren't sure if the outcome they will simply drop the case.Japan has an extremely high conviction rate. It is so high in fact that as soon as you are arrested, you are pressumed guilty. Exactly. However, a case where the defendant killed and hid the body of the victim without notifying the police is a pretty open and shut case. One of the reasons the conviction rate is high is that the prosecutors only issue warrants when they are certain that the suspect will be found guilty. I was refering to the initial state of things. The black-haired girl wanted to go to the police, before her yandere ex convinced to hide the body.Exactly. However, a case where the defendant killed and hid the body of the victim without notifying the police is a pretty open and shut case.
