Honestly I wish the enemy was portrayed as more competent than they actually are rather than something to be mowed down like cannon fodder, it just devalues the enemy and makes the series more meh the more you notice it. Also the commander has WAY too much plot armor.

Thanks for the TL though and lovely series overall.

It was either by the books or rampage-kun. Former met his bullet, shoulda carried it with him. Now let's see if it's a single or doubles by the end.

Sweet, sweet, opium, I presume.
They should supply Touri with those mana potions, which I think are probably just laudanum with magic spices.

To be fair, when their elite with lightning and spear shew up, he did the exact same as Drive-me-closer here. Dmc just was better with support and took him down.

Remember that this is a tiny strip of a large and wide battlefield we follow. Even if our brave lads & lass penetrate deep, other points might be suffering the opposite. If we had non-stop elites show up to match Dmc, this'd devolve into a battle-shounen quick. Additionally, the enemy might just have a "avoid dmc" policy going. Why feed him all their elites, when one lucky shell or bullet might end him eventually, which I think will happen eventually. Some unlucky, unglorious death.

Veldie: Book smart, battle stupid.

IDK why you think they're incompetent. This is normal WW1 trench warfare. And we already know the sides are roughly equal. Just a few chapters ago this company was the only company that survived a charge from the other side. And this company has the highpower commander, plus a healer.

He stood up to fix weapon jam...
Why...?
If you only ever train clearing jams while standing up, that's your muscle memory.
Many people default to their muscle memory when placed under stress.

If you survive long enough, soldiers develop new muscle memory that's more compatible with the battlefield and not training camp.

Confusing control scheme.
