This manga is a bleak goreporn miseryfest. I would love to know the spoilers for all the intrigues this manga has set up so far, but not enough to actually continue reading it

Interesting twist on the isekai theme, the art is damn good, so the whole package gets elevated imo

Edit after reading volume 2:

holy shit… it’s peak. Needs horror and tragedy tag, but god damnit this is really good.

If you like the world building, the mystery, and of course the terror in Made in Abyss this is has a lot in common.

i honestly did not take a big look at the covers of the chapters at all so it was very crazy to see them quite gory and dark

why is this rated so highly, it's not good and pointlessly gory.
jjk is rated so highly because it is dumb and gory and show bs while telling bs. All the same. I stay away from the fans of this comics.

An unexpectedly good read. Some elements feel very familiar but they come together in a very enticing way that has me waiting for every chapter to get uploaded. The horror mixed into the Isekai creates a great setting, but it’s horror in a world that used to be good or mostly good, but is able to hint at darker elements of this society without it being 1 dimensionally evil like in some Isekai.

Also, the powers and limitations of the mc changing with the story is necessary (who wants to read a slow crawl about increasing those 5 minutes of hero power increase with training) and it mixing into a loss of his own self/new body as an additional mystery and horror element is another joy

Looking at the interaction in between the Hero and Ougi in ch.20... The implication of the 4 headless figures lining up (page 17, ch.7) during the dream sequence Ougi had, where the Hero was shown dining on his (Ougi's) head is much clearer now.

I had a quick reread of ch.1 and caught something which I didn't notice before: the entity which asked Ougi if he wanted to live while he was dying from the stab wound is very much the Hero himself. The collar of the entity's coat (page 12, ch.1) is identical to that of what Ougi is wearing (first seen page 35, ch.1).

While the Hero seemed to be protecting Ougi's consciousness during the fight against Portia's mutated form, earlier chapters are also implying that the Hero's actively consuming Ougi as shown by the head consumption scene and following it up with Ougi forgetting some things about himself. The reason and future implications for this is unknown right now, and is the main attraction for me towards this manga.

this shit is AWSOME!

edit: turns out it's not a comedy but a thriller.
had some good chuckles the first 4 chapters but after that it gets serious. maybe too edgy sometimes.

The pacing on this is incoherent. Introduction to desperately defending the beast girl as a dear friend in 10 minutes.

the MC character design looks like the zombie character from Niizuma-sensei's manga in Bakuman
