It's quite literally a flip of the normal cliché. It even has parts in it that clearly nod towards the normal way it goes but bluntly subvert from the usual path ultimately making it feel like its a parody.

In any regard it is rather interesting and refreshing seeing it play out in the opposite direction.

This is kinda what I was thinking as well.. because it appears to be quite a lot of demons there, with one being a bit more out front than the others.. possibly the new demon king, if not him becoming the new king?

Just hoping there's no timeskip.. and wondering if the previous party will come back around.

So this is an adaptation, the WN is from Jan 2020 and it finished back in Sept 2024 with 880 chapters, there is no LN and no translation either, author at the final chapter mention that he got carried away while writing this, and the plot stretched alot so it ended alot longer than what he imagined (author wrote a long afterword too)

Explains why the girls yelled in unison “that’s impossible” when he said he thought they would marry Claude. They also probably yelled that becauseof their love for him over Claude anyway.

Instead of fighting over Cross they should have drawn up a schedule for who gets him on what days. The odd days of the week the party could do "rock paper scissors" who gets him.
