Well, to be fair, it does look like "no-fur" is used pretty much as a slur. Words can become loaded, after all.

This isn't racism because of some perceived superiority... this is preconception based on the fact they themselves are treated with utmost disrespect.

The rest of the world, because of the geographical position of their countries, entirely underestimates the danger of the voidlings and thinks the animalians are just exaggerating, and treats them as a convenient mercenary force.

Not saying it is a good thing how skewed Doben is... but his people are equally mistreated, his heart is hurt, and he has taken a stand.

This situation is much more complicated than saying "racism bad, stop being racist".

I read the manga.
What bothered me was that earlier, they made a big deal on how the human nation's dismissive apathy towards the beastfolk carrying the brunt of the demon invasion was properly called out, yet when the beastfolk are racist towards humans, it's excused with others telling the mc's to understand him.
It's a doublestandard being applied here.
