So his skill turns the cheapest junk into treasure, and now the hero's party's gear and supplies are getting debuffed. It's kind of impressive how many varieties of 'we fired our secret support guy' these authors can invent.
What is worse, even the started use of his skill, without any hidden features, is more than enough to make him valuable to anyone with a brain.

Always find what you need is major when you start needing rare items, and a discount no matter how small adds up over time.

I don't understand how they're gonna make a reason for his ex party failing next chapter; if they're really doing the E rank dungeon to lie about the mix up (since the end page suggested they were fighting weaklings), then even if their equipment is for some reason completely worthless without his presence, they should be able to manage with multiple of them, magic, skills, etc.

But given his skill was shopping, I also don't get why he needs to be in the party for the equipment to continue to receive the buffs; its about acquiring the items, and if that somehow involves buffs like it is essentially shown to have, then that should be applied on purchase when the "shopping" occurs, unless he unlocked other related skills eventually that he never realized (something like needing to be appraised, etc)
From the description "...By buying and massively enhancing items,..."

I am pretty certain his skill buffs his purchases, which we can see when he buys the sword and armor, so I am assuming without the MC those buffs on the parties gear are going to wear off quickly. Which we can see in the lead bullies sword chipping at the end.

Well this feels very run in the mill so far. Let's see where it goes though. Thank you for translating!

Well, this "what i buy turns to gold" is different from "Gacha that is never actually gacha", more straightforward.

The story is so unoriginal or might it be that i have read so many of these that now i can just skip the first chapter altogether.

It seems in the next chapter we will se what type of goblins we have in this universe, hope they are the crafty type and not the horny type, though with the armor in the cover i kind of think it will be the later instead of the former

So they kick him out, that's somewhat understandable I guess, but then decide to essentially murder him just because? :thonk:

So it seems he's unaware of the second part of his skill, which enhances the items he buys and makes him stronger. It's probably because he's done nothing but buy stuff for other people that he hadn't noticed.

Normally skills like this need the character to be in the same area, to care about the objects/people they're affecting in some way, or recasting/maintenance. Basically since the skill is tied to him in some way, when he leaves it's going to go with him. And even if you're high ranking, working with cheap garbage is only going to be a detriment. For example, assuming the staff the mage uses is anything like a focus, something used to channel her abilities, it's probably going to get overwhelmed and either cancel out or break altogether. It's clear that equipment plays a big role in adventurers abilities in this story (which makes sense given the characters power) so piss poor equipment will always lead to you getting injured or dying.

I think it's in part to hide the fact they lied about him being an apprentice. If he mentions he was an apprentice, at least someone is bound to believe him given why would he work in their guild without being registered as an adventure otherwise, etc, so cleaning up loose ends of anything he can say.

The enhancement skill probably works on those he acknowledges as his party members.
Now that the kid is gone, all the accumulated wear on the weapons is either happening rapidly, and they wouldn't treat their new gear well because they never had to before because of him.
I reckon the party was pretty much working on easy mode with his buffs, so they haven't actually developed the appropriate strength and skill to carry out their job. Even worse for them is that the initial strength and skill from before they took him in, would be atrophied to all hell because they didn't need it.
It's like wearing an exoskeleton to do weight lifting. The stronger it got, the weaker they got as it took more of the load off their shoulders. Now they're trying to bench press 30KG but they haven't noticed they have the arm strength of a 10 year old.

So I get this is the typical kicked out of part situation from a high ranked party but I can’t but help and see the guild itself as kinda spineless….

The A rank party drew a sword and threatened a former party member, they even put the sword to his neck and they got no repercussions, in most other stories you can’t draw a weapon in the guild lest you be kicked out.

I feel they are showing that adventurers are more thugs than anything else in this world.

Soooo... based solely on the summary.

The kid is basically a passive Pay-to-win character. Or more precisely, the type of game where there's a VIP system and each cash purchase gets you VIP points to get stronger passives and bonuses.

Which begs to question if it's per transaction, or based on how much money is spent. And we already have confirmation that the passive buff is dependent on him being in the party.

And based on the preview panel, it appears that this RPG world is far more gear oriented than it is skill or level oriented? Well, we'll find out I guess.

Pretty damn box standard trash, kinda silly while trying to take itself seriously, we'll see how stupid this goes.

...

So... I was about to say take your bet on the first companion, but the cover kinda spoils it. Seems like a human knight-type girl, again very box standard for this sort of stuff.

So instead, let's take bets on the second companion.
Erofu? Catgirl? Loli?
Maybe a combination of the above, like a Loli Catgirl?
Actually to make it more fair, let's go with Beastkin, sometimes these authors like to spice it up by having a different animal base.
And will it be a slave, yes or no?

Will there even be a harem to begin with? I mean we don't have a harem tag (Yet).
I bet it’ll be a dragon that transforms into a loli.

So we have an "expelled" story in 2025 without any twist, with everyone from the original party being cartoonishly evil. How utterly boring.
