MC realizes that his skill is actually powerful, understands that the dungeon was really a dangerous place where he could've died and that he survived not by a stroke of luck, but because of the effects of his skill, and we're getting the former party having their asses handed to them so soon?

Based on other cliche comics of this sort, he lets them live, they turn more evil - or more explicit, the leader turns more evil - and does more and more heinous shit to destroy the MC; and the for inexplicable reasons, despite being incredibly weak, they manage to be incredibly strong when doing evil things to kill the MC.

I've seen this stupid scenario play out at least three or four times.

They won't be killed for the sole reason that there needs to be possibility of a recurring foil. But I don't think I would mind if the party ended up "permanently disbanded" in that kind of fashion...

I can get that. It's mostly having read a number of weak-but-actually-strong expulsion stories that the narrative brain I got from my mom kicks in to attempt understanding the broader structure, instead of living independently within any given chapter.

There are a couple where they leave on good terms, or they truly couldn't keep up. But not many.
