So what happened to chapters 1 to 9? Did Mangadex just remove them or?
The uploader wasn't us at schale scans... the person removed them fearing it would cause trouble... you can read them on comick, once we finish this series... we'll re do the 1-9

I mean... with that much crazy redraws and staff being unavailable... I had to use something...(photoshop shitty andriod edition loaded with ads) but I couldn't clean the watermark, lol:lol:
What if you made the canvas big enough for the logo to not be on the manga page, and then cropped it after (in a different app if need be)?

I mean, if you look at the dictionary definition.

"a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities."

Who is a hero can change from society to society, time to time, or even person to person based on changing values or ideals.

The kingdom only values results, which is why the hero can be changed. So the alchemist is correct since the "hero" path in this instance isnt defined by good or evil.

If we go by your idea of a hero then Toni and his party aren't heroic either with the underhanded methods they used to usurp Allen. If its a case of "ends justify the means" then why would Toni be more of an ideal hero than Allen? Just because Allen is more blatant?
yeah they both lack noble qualitites. one is insane asshole and other is a creepy envious hero who gladly will kill and steal the title.
i think i would hate to live in that world if heroes are like that.

I've had an inkling for a while now that while MC's golden potion might be more potent than the usual ones, it might have side effects that could be lethal to you

but Allen's skill basically nullifies that and even give him boost bcos he's always almost die after drinking it, as there has been implications that his skill only activates when he's in very near-death scenario. it's part of the reason for his recklessness basically

now add MC's sociopathy of basically seeing Allen as experiment subject, you get a guy who makes "potions that buffs you even better" but doing so in a more and more insane way that lets him get away with the specific subject drinking it being able to survive near-death situations

Usually the banishment happens out of arrogance. But this sheds a new light on Ricks twisted relationship in the party.
it also sheds new light on his acceptance on killing adventurers - humans - as a new DM

back then, they worded it as if maybe his new role as a DM changed him mentally. like, his contract with the dungeon spirit makes him less hesitant on killing fellow humans

maybe it was that at first, but once he sees all kinds of stuff he can experiment with as a DM, that effect (if there at all) probably matters less and less and eventually it's all just his obsession with research that pushed him forward as a DM alongside a newfound family

it's also probably why he doesn't seem to bear that much grudge against Allen, if at all. he got new, better research lab now that is always being visited by new experiment subjects. what else does it matter for an alchemist?

everyone in this manga is a psychopath lmao
It's Japan. Seriously, I'd like a study on the percentage of population that fall into psychopath, sociopath, narcissist -- cause (based on manga, etc.) it seems way higher than the West.

As for Rick... I don't trust this typical 'gotta paint everyone gray' approach. Rick noted earlier that he quit caring about adventurers dying to his dungeon after he became a DM -- which makes sense -- becoming a DM essentially put him on the monster/DM team.

Healer seems fine (not psychopath, sociopath or narcissist) - as evidenced by her outrage at Allen's villainous behavior.

As for others... They're all ambitious mercenaries -- it wouldn't be surprising for people in that field to be morally dubious.

if you are Allen, knowing you been made test subject that you don't know what the consequences and viewed as lab rat, ofc you will banish that Alchemist. The fact Allen aware that Golden potion is different with others tell he knew Rick potion is different. That might be also the reason why his skill not active using other golden potion, as you said, its potency. Rick talked about wanted to know what condition of Thief skill activation, maybe he did using Allen to tests what condition needed to activate and boost his skill using his own formula of golden potion.

Pretty interesting twist that MC isn't as Innocent as we thought, even before becoming Dungeon Master.
Hero is a-hole, MC is Sociopath, Next Hero Candidate is not a good person too. And the Tank is "dead". Feel like only one actual good innocent at heart that's still alive is the Healer girl... poor girl.
Not even the healer girl. While it seems not as bad as the others, she seems to be dysfunctional. We'll probably see more of her soon

The irony, it's Allen that knew Rick true nature as alchemist. everything is for research. He might be muscle brain but his hero instinct tell him something is wrong with Rick and he's right. Rick is sociopath.
Ya I actually really like this twist. It's nice to see some depth added to his previous actions. The man was right to fear and shun Rick, he just did a shitty job of taking care of it and we weren't given all the facts. its surprisingly good writing for what I had begun to think was just a cringe power fantasy

Final Fantasy 7 Hojo to be specific, I understand that Hojo is just a general name so I hope that clarifies things.

If you need some context with minimal spoilers, he's effectively a mad scientist and arguably the reason why everything goes to hell in the story to begin, which is an argument as to why he's the actual villain of the whole story despite Sephiroth being the main antagonist you fight at the end.
