I guess most people just don't survive long enough for that. The first death sword probably catches them off-guard and gets them.

That's definitely been one of the main conceits for the series. A lot of things that were common knowledge in the game are unknown here, because fucking up = death. Most people take the safe, reliable path and for a monster like this it's definitely not "solo it and figure out the attack pattern".

Well if the standard pattern use by the bozz class like patchwork, near every enemy will be defeated then...

The Toy Box boss was a little off pattern, showing better adaptability than it had in the game, i.e. a better ability to adapt its strategy to its opponent. However, this was a mechanical problem of mp usage, which seems to remain unchanged from the game.

Celt had one job with the chance to go all-out on DPS (maybe he had no good skills because he's a filthy kill stealer) because he had someone dodge-tanking for him and a healer helping him, and he still got outDPS'ed by the tank.

I find it interesting that the monster overestimated its mp and messed up by trying to cast Death Sword. Did the game devs not program the monsters' logic (e.g. if MP >= 20 & attackcounter==4, use Death Sword, else use Normal Attack) to take different actions immediately if certain condition are/aren't met...

I've played plenty of RPGs (mostly old ones) over the years where you can drain their MP and enemies will still try and use their specials.
