And with that, "Car Crash in Slow Motion: The Manga" has (thankfully) come to an end!
I really should've saved myself all the time wasted reading this manga and just drop it from Ch.2, when big man Daru the moment he was alone with our 15 year old drunk, clueless, dumb as rocks FMC, Athena called her a quote on quote "Cutie" which would from the get-go tell me how this manga was gonna play out, but I decided to finish it to the end to confirm my suspicions.
And oh boy were they right! (rant incoming for those who don't want to read an essay)
I'm atleast glad that Est had some kind of happy end but it doesn't excuse at all the bs that happened in this manga. Not by a longshot. I can understand what the author was trying to do but god did it tick me off that they tried to make Daru and the party the good guys in every way, at the cost of poorly written characters, plot points, and an equally mid ending.
This doesn't deserve all the 1 star bombs, but I can definently say it also doesn't deserve anything over a 5 or 6 at most. A 4 star probably being the best for a poorly written story like this.
Well, that's all from me. I'm getting my brain washed. Deuces.
(tldr for those who didn't want to bother reading rant; mad at poor writing, prolonged plot points, little character development, and mid ending)

Not only did the whole misunderstanding between Est and Athena get ever so slightly over the course of the manga get swept under the rug just to paint Est as the bad guy....
Not only did we have to watch in agony as the misunderstanding was painstakingly prolonged because our big, totally mature man Daru decided not to tell Est at all about why he got kicked out (with excuses so lazily written, i first thought it was a joke), and instead let him fester his hate on his own just to paint him the bad guy infront of Athena and essentially go on a... date (shivers) with her only coming to tell Est about the whole thing halfway into the manga with the most half-assed apology i've ever seen...
And not even only did we get to witness the least important characters to the plot (the hot headed dragon girl who's whole backstory as of her getting strong and immediately disregarding those who fell behind... just because?; and the lesbian party smurf elf girl who honestly was the 2nd worst character due to how annoying she proved to be throughout the manga and her reasoning being even more so to the point it makes you want to bash your head against a wall when you consider everything she's done throughout the manga) have the most little character development I've ever seen just because ol reliable Daru had to show them the way to do things because their crutch was kicked out and the party was down in the dumps when he could've done so at the start with Est and the rest of the party when the party dynamic was still shaky (i know he actually did so in the ln but honestly I don't think it would made a difference in the premise of the whole story in making Daru more likable with the blunders he's done)...
I don't think Stardust as a whole actually realized just how much Est being kicked off had an impact on the party besides Athena who only knew so because she was the most impacted and Daru who instead of trying to point out this flaw to the party and letting them acknowledge it was their fault it led to this and suggesting actions to find a way to compensate for the lack in power (as done so with the teamwork 'training' he did which only kept them afloat against intermediate monsters) and mending back the bond with Est, he instead just watch the part fall from grace for a month, all in the while never clearing up the misunderstanding to Est and only stepped in for the sake of Athena, not really anyone else, ultimately inserting himself as the hero of the party with his ever so convenient power boost to prove how strong he is, walking into the sunset with his harem. (ugh.)
