Seriously what the fuck is up with Japanese media and slavery these days? I'm seeing way too much of this shit, something ain't right.
It's been a constant for years. Especially with fantasy and isekai. The first I remember in modern anime was Shield Hero then it just was everywhere. It's tiring.

Christ this art is painful. Good job on the translation though.

Was expecting trash to numb my brain for a couple of minutes. Didn't expect to be depressed by such a shitty pathetic protagonist with so few redeeming qualities.
Also the comments are almost bad enough to make me forget howlbad the story was. Y'all need to take breather relax a little.

Me reading the synopsis: Please don’t be another “protagonist gets fired, instantly discovers he’s OP and gets a harem” wish fulfillment, and please please please don’t be in a “slavery is super cool, you get to buy girlfriend mommies who are into it” world

Me reading the chapter: welp goddammit. also this is very poorly translated
I'm always surprised by how putrid I find stories where the MC buys a slave for companionship.
It’s because slavery is the most evil institution ever created by humanity, not a fun way to buy girlfriends who won’t say no, hope this helps

Isekai or fantasy always have the slave trope for the MC. It's like the author is lonely or something and see otakus are lonely people that want a slave wife to satisfy them.
Not really? On my read list, it's about 50/50 whether or not the MC acquires a slave (I probably have about 100 shounen isekais or fantasies on my list). About 80% of them do have the concept of slavery in the world but they don't always have the MC acquiring a slave.

One day I’ll get sufficiently pissed off to write I Was Isekai’d Into One Of Those Worlds With Slavery But All The Girls Are Into It For Some Reason And You Can Buy Infinite Girlfriends, So Naturally I’ll Become Isekai John Brown And Burn It To The Ground

Japan seems to at least partially include it as the horrors of the past, as it often reflects how things worked in Japan's history with added magical enforcement, and more often then no the MC is anti-slavery.

It is not like they are one of the nations that still practice it in one form or another, there are plenty of places people can buy wives, or people in general, to this day.

It was there before, but Shield Hero is the one that popularized it.
Most MCs that partake do not use it well, Shield Hero who was only taking paret out of desperation, and planned to leave them MUCH better off then he found them.
