I thought, for once, I'd get to read a story about an MC that actually deserved to get kicked out of the hero's party and the story would be about him bettering himself. But no, it was all an act so that he could get himself booted on purpose.

This is the first time I saw a 'kicked out of the party' story where the party is fully justified. (I mean, hiding his abilities and just lazing around? I would have kicked him out too, especially after he revealed he was bullshitting the whole time.) Hopefully I'm misunderstanding, but 13 pages in, he just seems like kind of a dick, even if he did leave them with a ton of resources to help them.

Okay, so after finishing the chapter, I will update my thoughts: I'm thinking he pretended to slack off so that he could focus on his work without the heroes demanding stuff from him. And i guess there was some kind of task he was required to complete, which for some reason required him to get kicked out? And I guess I can't blame him since I guess his entire goal is just to go home. Okay, I might have been wrong on my initial assessment.

No way... surely the mangaka will fumble. There is no way this turns out to be a good manga. Right?

I'm late to the game, I know. But this is based on a novel. And the novel is great and the adaptation here looks good so this is probably gonna be a really2 good manga for quite some time. (Iirc it gets slightly dull later on but still good overall)

I enjoyed that first chapter, mostly because it's a well-crafted surprise for the usual hero party trope. His intentionality and abrupt joy was enjoyable! I liked how they actually put a lot of thought on kicking him out, and retracted once they saw his efforts & guidance in helping everyone else improve.

There are still many questions, as expected, but I'm interested in this! Lan-chan thanks for recommending this to me, Ch2 here I goooo 🍜

Wow, this man literally has the power in Kingdom Hearts. Might actually be interesting, though the setup of him showing himself to be super happy after getting the power-up felt rather tacky =0v. I don't really like it when MC is OP and shows off he's OP in such an instantaneous manner. I'll have to see how future chapters behave....
