I've read several times that romance is pretty much non-existent in the story which makes all these chapters retroactively pointless. Why build up something like this but not do the pay off?
bro it doesn’t have to end like that wtf are you on about? just because it doesn’t end as you wanna doesn’t mean it was any way pointless!!!

that is such a stupid thing to sau LMAO
You'll feel otherwise if this gets canned after they finally finish the world no. 1 / Tia story(which has taken close to two years by now) and we never get to actually see the premise of redoing the 100 worlds play out.

I have so much to say, I'm about to go on a nerd ramble

First!! It starts with showing us a glimpse of the kingdom, and for the millionth time, the art is just so beautiful. It's clean and concise. The panelling can also get creative sometimes.

Second!! I absolutely love how when Tia explains the way to find Ed, Alexis immediately goes "Okay so I can do this, this and this to help" without wasting a breath. I see what the author did there and I REALLY REALLY like it. It strongly shows how it's not only Tia who cares about Ed that much.
This does two things, the first is avoiding the usual "female character being the only one caring about the MC who parted ways" cliche. The second is not following the usual Japanese reaction of "eh?! haa?! oooooaaah!!" when Alexis was told how to find Ed. That was a really nice touch and I appreciate it.
I also love the little lines that really cement how much they care about Ed. Like when they said how they rushed to where they last saw Ed, how they searched every corner of the world, and Alexis' last line which shows that it's not only Tia who is determined to the max.

The bad!! I really wish World 1 was given more time. It's great that all three of them care for Ed so much and want him back, but if instead of that timeskip we got a bit more time, maybe 10 more chapters with all three of them, the readers would feel more attached to the characters and actually relate to those three missing Ed so much. Because the pacing was so fast the last few chapters that it feels like Ed barely knows them, which is not true.

Some thoughts!! This is like an idea you have while sitting on the toilet. 100 worlds, 100 stories. This is something you can easily cheese your way out of, by not focusing much on any world. But this is also something that can turn into a labyrinthine work with incredible depth. It really saddens me that someone said that the novel after World 1 becomes shit. I really hope the manga can be different in how it approaches things.
So totally agree.

I had thought Alexis rotted, but he wasn't, he was just doing his kingly job ... and the trio still cared so much of Ed.

Yeah, that scene where they squeezed their last bit of strength to go back to where Ed did his Last Stand ... that was heart-wrenching.

In a way this reminds me of Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Itte kara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natte Ita ...

When was her age given? Hmm... chapter 4 says "Over 100 years old." So 100 + 10 years looking for him + 10 years in failed world (if she remembers that), so she's "over 120". Meanwhile Ed is physically in his twenties, but spent 100 years touring worlds, so he's (mentally) in his 120's. So they could be about the same age. (But she might be older.)

Anyway, not a substantial age difference as far as we know.
i believe it was mentioned that she was 120 but i don't remember where. i'd have to go back to check to confirm it. i'm pretty sure i made a comment about her age when it was revealed but it's been a long minute now so my memory is hazy at best.

let us suppose you're telling the truth, then this section of story will be a self contained story capable of enthralling and reader as it stands today. getting salty for somthing that hasn't happened yet isn't healthy, i recommend some tea and a long sleep.

God damnit!! Why is he doing a 3rd run?!

Ohohohoho... That isn't the third run... And the "third" run happens because Multiverse Creator God stopped playing fair because they realised their plan was about to be ruined.

And now you have a reason to go through the WN, lucky you! Evil grin, evil grin, evil grin

Kind of ridiculous that the synopsis on the site of the WN translator already spoils the plot till this storypoint (and slightly beyond).

Aye it seems like we really are getting the story on how she got there. Like what i had mentioned in the previous chapter, but it would have probably had better impact if it the meeting wasn't revealed first.

I just binged read the whole thing, this is some rollercoaster read. The Art, the story and chemisty man this manga was a GEM. I never knew I'd hype and tear up, its so refreshing to see competent characters from a banishing fantasy genre this some amazing story.

The author was DEFINITELY inspired by Sousou no Frieren's dynamic with Himmel and Frieren... heck, the WN started in December 2020 which was just half a year or so after Frieren began serialization.

This manga is too good to not be a weekly release. Do it now :pout:
weekly releases come in place of fewer pages and lower quality artworks
and the artists' health.. I'm fine with manga released on a monthly basis

webcomics like solo leveling at the quality they release on a weekly basis is mostly because companies like kakao love to abuse the living hell out of their artists which eventually some of them have had shorter life spans if not developed terminal sicknesses because of it

Agreed. Even Naruto's mangaka said that he would no longer be doing weekly releases as that was too much work for him and was affecting his health.
