the worst thing is that there actually are people like mama in the real world

It's kinda funny, for the most part this manga is not serious, like, at all, and yet I can't help but feel this portrayal of an abusive parent is more realistic than vast majority of mangas

I think maybe because because more often than not the abusive parents are portrayed as being dumb, incompetent and cartoonish evil while here her actions are very clearly intentional and purposely to gaslight and emotionally manipulate Mirabelle, she knows exactly what she's doing to keep Mirabelle under her thumb

There's also the fact that Mirabelle pretty clearly knows what is happening but can't help but still go with it cause she still loves her mother and wants to believe in her while many series the characters don't realize how their parents really are

Realistic depiction of abusive parent wasn't on my bingo card for this series

I keep misreading Mirabelle as miserable.

Man the mom portrayal is so real it hurts.

The guild master is such a badass that the mom is counting the damage to take her down lol (one finger for each kid she raise, or sacrificing 9 of her fingers for real during the fight?)

Can't get enough of this manga and its absurdity haha

I love all the relationships in this manga, it feels really bonding (and the stupid laugh they have together we need more of it in manga).
