Because, in Japan, "new" is always better than "old;" even a new piece of shit is better than an old gold nugget.
So a "new" girl (ie: child) is better than an "old" girl (ie: teenager/adult)

The Japanese shounen-MC is a diseased mind.
Actually, not even "Japanese", it feels very much like a product of its time, like 90s sort of brainrot crap.
Lit: "Don't ever think badly or hold bad thoughts against people who gravely wronged you, that makes YOU the bad person!"
I once heard someone say that the whole mentality of: "turn the other cheek" that was rampant in the 90s, early 2000s, the: "if you fight back you're as bad as the bully" (I didn't even live in the U.S and I was still bombarded with that shit) -- is just conditioning people to never fight for their rights or standards as adults, and I was never able to stop thinking about that idea.
Even if unintentional, the moment you see characters spew out that bullshit -- and it goes unchecked, unchallenged -- it can and WILL condition young readers into thinking in such a brainrotted manner.
I actually had a highschool teacher tell me once: "only stupid people resort to violence".
Which, in a sense, is true. If your only tool for conflict resolution is unga-bunga, you're not very educated or resourceful.
But at the same time -- holy shit, go fuck yourself.

Remember his POS Ex Boss! Yeah that bastard reincarnated with his memories as "his father" in this life! He knew he reincarnated as his son as well, but assumed he was the "dud" when he chose WRONG! No idea what his sociopath of a twin brother is! But the POS admitted HE was responsible for why his and his sister's life became shitty! He arranged their parents deaths, and performed FRAUD on the life insurance so he'd get it, using the money to make his dying company recover, he exploited MC and did the retirement as another scam to exploit him! He talks about how this is the perfect world for him, a World for "the exploiter" like him, but the fact he got reincarnated in the first place proves he DIED in the other world! From what is unknown, but I wouldn't be shocked if his fraud was discovered and he lost EVERYTHING, died, but instead of "learning his lesson" he instead became WORSE! But his territory is FINISHED basically, turns out the BOUNTY of Harvest they had was great AFTER MC and his brother was born and he wondered if it was ONE of them giving the blessing, assuming it was the youngest! But I'm suspecting he has a means to FAKE his cards! Knowing what his father was looking for and faking in order to assure his own FUTURE! Basically because he already "did the things he adviced back in chapter 1, making MC "Adopted!" He knows the POS can't nor WILL backpedal. Even the POS is suspect of the sociopath in how quickly he changed behavior back then! Basically they harass MC again because they found out about his HAVEN and the Dragons, but assume they can BULLY MC to obey and use the pretext of it being "their land" despite having abandoned it!
But yeah it is annoying how MC acts in this and I hate the "Turn the other cheek!" I do so ONLY when there's nothing to really GAIN from fighting! I pick my fights! Thing is I long grew out of the mind set of "you're as bad as the bully" I laugh at that shit! No you're only AS BAd if you do the vile shit or WORSE they do! If not then they still are BAD! I feel the writer was HOPING to show how MATURE MC is, I mean look at my spoiler about the two sociopaths he shares blood with and you can see the Writer is trying to make a statement about EXPLOITERS getting their just desserts
The Fact that MC last life ended MISRABLY! Seriously delaying on giving what happened to the POS father's fate in the previous life undercuts the KARMA because it makes it look like he lived a full life and "KARMA" rewarded him by making him a Noble in such a world! Hell some commenters called MC WEAK for deciding to "do the thing the POS wanted to exploit him for" which on one hand, the Barbarian's harassing their land ARE a threat that could come and effect him some day! But on the other, he's giving the POS what they want "Free of Charge!" Not to mention what he did in Chapter 1 bowing felt TOO submissive, I get why he did it, he knew he had no choice but to "be weak" knowing the POS will be GIDDY and to distracted to realize they left him FREE to act as he will! But still! It's why I think his brother has a power that lets him FAKE the appearance and description of his cards! It's RATHER Convenient that he got the "CARDS" their father "was expecting! And his behavior makes it clear he KNEW what their father wanted and "delivered" when MC's cards showed up as they did! I will keep looking, but I will LAUGH if it's true.....and turns out he's a WEAK sack of shit, good at FAKING power, but as with his power, it's all FAKE! And seeing what you put down on MC behavior! I wonder if he is basically "MC's DARK SIDE given form! The Bad side of him who wanted to BE the exploiter and not the exploited, learning the WRONG LESSONS from his OLD BOSS'S behaviour
