Makoto actually had down time before he got Isekai thanks to tsukiyomi. He said his goodbyes and he really was confessed by 2 girls. The illusion at the very begining is a modified memory of it. And it somewhat happened. But knowing he is gonna be isekaied he have to turn them down.
Both of them fell for him as he privately trained archery on his own when everyone left.

I believe this is a Light Novel original that was ported in the manga and it was absent in the original WN, like the assassin and crafter sisters.
There are some other things, but in general Tsuki was so well done from the original writer that they didn't need to make many changes, or maybe unlike other Ncode writers he refused the editor "advice" (forcing changes in a perfect story to justify getting paid from the publisher), for example ShieldBro author accepted to change the plot, made me drop the manga at the chocobo race.

We don't fully know their full fates as they are yet to graduate in WN, but do far
1. Sifu and Yuno want to work as merchants and it was implied that they will work at Kuzunoha company to gain experience after graduating.
2. Jin Rohan is basically confirmed to join Kuzunoha company and is currently training to become a full fledged employee. He will probably be joining Research & Development division as he want to be a Researcher.
3. Izumo after Lorel arc, he fell in love with his fiancee (initially arranged marriage) and decided to cut ties with his household in order to fully support her (her family is basically Dukal family that reins Lorels former capital and surrounding region).
4. Mithra officialy started dating Yuno after Lorel arc, but is a bit lost what to do with his life. But from the looks of it, he will probably move to Tsige.
5. Daena decided to become a professor in Rostgard.
6. Abelia wants to work in Kuzunoha company, mainly because of Shiki, but it's complicated. Shiki gaslighted her into body modification experiments because she is too weak to work close to him and Makoto. However it is hard to say yet why he did it, from the vibes of conversations (because WN is more of general outline and LN and Manga have MUCH more details) it looks like he is subconsciously attached to her,but their relationship is complicated.
My opinion is that Shiki is indeed really attached to Abelia and gaslighted her into experiments so that she would stop being hyuman because of Makoto. He still tends to discriminate against Hyumans, and still keeps them away from demiplane, with one exception of Lime Latte, who was accepted after becoming Tomoe's familiar. Which is ironic if it ends up being true, because Makoto is actually rooting for Abelia and plans to accept her if Shiki decide to marry her.
They are STILL not graduated in the WN yet ? That is crazy lol.

This Mithra/Yuno romance is one of the best things that I've seen in Tsukimichi. Both of their characterizations are done extremely well.
Mithra: definitely trying to hit out of his weight class, knows it, but is determined to do it anyway, and with that determination, he has a chance. And he's skilled but definitely not a total stud, fear runs high in the guy, but he pushes through anyway.
Yuno: Smart, hard-working, merchant's daughter. She doesn't play with or use him, but instead lays out the facts, that she is romantically interested, but that other factors will trump that. When he say's he's going to try anyway, she first suggests that he's out of his mind (in that hillarious "count my fingers" way), but then is clearly impacted by his determination.
This is vastly better than the typical "failure to communicate + 2 years of misunderstandings, foot-dragging and mutual self-doubt" romcom.
I mean is it really worth pursuing such a person? Yeah hearth wants what it wants yada yada but by the time you reach that point i'm fairly sure there will be WAY better prospects for you out there. Her considering herself a rival against Mio and Tomoe and aiming for first wife position (lmao) just shows how delusional she already is. Let the losing heroine who is not even considered as a serious prospect in her own pursuit waste her life in vain and watch her settle for someone way way lower then you in the long run.
A rhetorical question--the answer to which I emphatically agree with.
Now, I can understand where Yuno's coming from: her parents taught her well, and she fears them--she can't and won't up and shack up with just anyone. When I saw that shorthair say everything she said specifically (i.e., her target and everything about him), however, my estimation of her dropped even further nevertheless. For all the strategic ability and discernment that she's supposed (and implied, given her reason for rejecting Mithra) to have, coming from her family, she can't figure out she's fighting a battle lost before the start (one that can only be won, in spite of that, by the power of the author's pen, as is frequently the case).
Her sister is one thing; the other two quite literally don't care if Yuno lives or dies. They aren't the same.
But if she wants to engage in such hopeless and perilous rivalry, that's her business. Mithra should have cut the red thread, difficult as that can be, as soon as she gave him the "I love you, but I'm not in love with you" nonsense: her station in life has truly gotten to her head, so brazenly declaring Mithra a mere option in favor of someone she wants to boost (she wants to be #1) from two women with whom she could never square up with. Tomoe isn't as overt in this regard as Mio is, but they've both surely got a reputation for being inexplicably and unquestionably dangerous by now--and throwing herself at that is part of the basis for Yuno's "yes-but-no".
The only thing she's got going for her, admittedly, is her face--exactly that and nothing else. If high standing is desired, he just left a party full of women with them, and likely goes to school with many as well; they're probably not masculinized of appearance, either. Together with the glaring lack of discernment, it's proof Mithra can do better with his time.

I actually agree with this, which is why I was hoping she wouldn't have me dislike her even more. I agree with everything except for the "smart" part, as the "fact" she laid out was "I want to commit suicide by trying to engage in feminine rivalry with two extremely territorial women."
If Yuno was refusing him because of a matter of standing, I wouldn't like it but I would get it--and Mithra's fighting to win her heart would be something I could get behind. She's instead throwing herself at a guy who doesn't even care if she's female--and is potentially throwing her life away to do so--to reject a man she herself is actually attracted to.

In fact, all in all, this series has built a fitting mentality well enough, that romance isn't everything there is to a marriage. Makoto's asexuality and disinterest in romance is often overshadowing the other characters' desires, especially reciprocated ones. When we are used to watching a whole bunch of females being interested in Makoto, yet Makoto gives them absolutely nothing in return, it may make it more difficult to notice anything going on between other characters where Makoto isn't involved at all. Stories revolve around the main character, after all.
Makoto is NOT asexual, he's avoiding it because he wants to go home and doesn't want to have any attachments in this world once he leaves, once he finally accepts he's not going home he accepts tomoe and mio who end up sleeping with him pretty shortly afterwards, making things official (i believe tomoe comments that makoto's stamina in bed is so strong that both her and mio are usually dead tired after sex with him) with the obvious relationship upgrade that brings, depending on how season 3 of the anime goes it may happen at the end of the next season, but likely will be in season 4 at the earliest.

With the lily being obsessed with making guns back in the spotlight made me realize that would not be the action of a person with a military strategist from middle ages, but rather a modern layman. You would be better off developing cannons, grenades or even rockets rather than a fully functional gun let alone a semi-automatic pistol. The amount of logistical effort and R&D to make a pistol vs a cannon or grenade is massive.
This is probably because there was a lot of reader backlash on the WN at the two getting together much later in the story with no real foreshadowing. It was also revealed that, if Kuzunoha asked Yuno out she'd dump whomever to be with him. but she realized it probably wasn't going to happen at some point and began dating him. Again, though, it was completely out of the blue in the WN.
They did go a bit into detail about this world's view on marriage (although that may only pertain to the elite of society).
iirc, The first wife is the important one that is done for love an holds the highest ranking inthe harem. While the second+ are more for "forming connections/political ties" and/or are a "marriage of convenience" to avoid marrying someone else or to raise their own status. Its why all the girls were trying to become Makoto's second or third wife with their romance letters.
This is mostly correct. They all wanted political connections without having to actually have the guy's kids, which is why they asked to be wives other than the first 2 or 3, iirc.

From Makoto's end, romantic partner, but only after Tomoe and Mio are satisfied. turns out he's quite good in bedI can't say much about the LN and it's been a couple of years since I last read the WN to its latest chapter (which might still be the latest chapter, or just a few behind). Wild guess is half way.
I don't really like the sudden romance drama twist, and I prefer when the girls that love a MC keep that feeling, as Tsuki will embrace the harem path one of the girls going for him getting excluded feels wrong, take them all mothafucka.
If it was plot to give the kid some motivation to become stornge rI feel like they could have done better.

Also, you're not alone in that feeling, many of the WN readers felt the same way, myself included. With that said, Makoto has Tomoe and Mio, and let's be honest, Makoto would not be out of character if those two were the only girls he ever took on. So the way I learned to see it was, if the harem protagonist is fine with less than every candidate, then it's fine (and even better) if those girls who aren't chosen move on with their lives.

This is incorrect. It's not that he's uninterested or asexual, he's just holding himself back since he doesn't know how to handle the romantic feelings of Tomoe and Mio. Remember when he tried to find a prostitute, and how Tomoe and Mio scolded him for not going to them for it?
Once he does get over his misgivings with Mio and Tomoe, he becomes quite romantically active with them.

I think it's more so that Makoto has never really experienced romantic love and has only been exposed to familial love before his transfer and after that he has had two beautiful women basically throwing themselves at him and feels very uncomfortable and overwhelmed in that area. He basically gaslights himself into thinking of them like family members but slowly opens up to having romantic feelings and relationship as the story progress.
