The story as presented makes it feel like you're supposed to think that at first but between her finding the letter in her desk while the classmate was outside and the way they focused on the text after he had already been memory wiped has me thinking it's a red herring, and we'll be introduced to new character who wrote it later.

Also funny how she said for him to watch out for cars, but not to the guy he sent SKIPPING away, lmao. AND down the stairs??
