It's more like mangakas don't know how friendly interactions work. Friendly conversations are most often than not supposed to be random and funny unless the situation calls for some serious talk. Friendships/relationships portrayed in manga are way too idealistic and boring. This might be unrelated to the previous comment and I'm not making any argument either. I just wanted to say that most rom-com character interactions feel bland like they're talking to Pokemon NPCs.
