Oh wow, so we aren't just repeating the same cycle over again, the author is mixing it up a bit. The signaling was that he's just having an edgy phase, not an actual villain now, but it still caught Spica's attention.
I see two routes:
Route A: the guy continues to lie to himself that he's some evil dude, until Spica does something evil in front of him, which scares him shitless into realizing he's just being edgy and not 'the real deal'. Arc ends.
Route B: The guy acts as as a contrast for Spica to realize that she herself is all manner of fucked up and he becomes an important character in trying to 'correct her'. Which of course shouldn't really work out, because in stories like these, Spica is 100% flagged to die / get put in prison in the end. The japanese don't write these vigilantes as 'getting away with it'.
So far, given how short the arcs are, I expect it to just be A. So kind of boring. B would be more fun.
