Interesting premise, looking forward to how it evolves.

You very rarely see the main point of an Isekai to be fishing, so it's really surprising to see something like this.

It's impossible for fishing culture to die out because there's always going to be hungry people and fish are a very convenient thing to eat.
Or maybe the traditional way of fishing (with a rod) has died out, and the only way left is either net fishing or trawler? Or even just fish farms

Native people could fish with a stick, or bone with various forms of rope tied around it since way back in ancient times. You don't need a fancy modern rod to do the same.

But oh well, it's a hobby jerk off manga so I'm not gonna give it too much thought. Has a hot beast girl at least eh?

I like that he's older than the average protagonist but does that mean he'll treat his obvious harem as daughters or apprentices only?

its clear they still catch and eat fish considering the female lead's motivation is cooking and eating them. They even say they prefer to use nets or harpoons(or magic), so I think the author intends to say that reel fishing is a skill that's died out which is slightly more plausible.
