tbf Elrand was always one of the characters where Mukohda's secret was safe with because revealing it would mean losing access to the one non-hostile dragon he can actually get close to. Elrand is obcessed but he's not an idiot, he knows that revealing such a secret just means Fel detroys the kingdom and him. Plus later there will also be an ancient dragon companion too so yeah secret is very safe
I'm glad they made this change, too many isekai have the protagonist keep a secret like this about their abilities with the only exception being contracted people/familiars and it gets to the point where they have no genuine connections with anyone. I mean ofc there's good reason to keep it a secret, but Mukoda makes a great point here that it's better to be able to use it with Elrand around, it would just be needlessly tedious to try to hide it or avoid using it here.
Regardless how annoying he is to the group, he is actually very competent and trustworthy. I will drop the manga if, due to plot or whatever, Elrand will betray/blackmail Mukoda in the future, because it will be way out of character for him and a stupid plot twist to boot.
Agree, and the mangaka/author makes it that there are enough precedent to show that Mukoda consciously believe that Elrand is a trustworthy guy -- despite of his quirks, not showing it to a random acquaintance just to advance the plot.

No I like an MC that actually grows and changes by interfacing with the world or at least having an interesting outlook as to WHY they have the traits they have. This one could, but the author won’t let them.
You have seen how much of a n obsession he has with dragon. I agree that he is very useful but you do realize he was willing to throw everything under the bus just so that he can go to an adventure with Dora. That can go into overdrive with the arrival of Gramps. Point is, it will be a dicier road in the future but I really do want to see Elrand to be a good guy and keep his promise.
