One page in and I'm going to say this: riding up on a horse, and then jumping off with a sword in your mouth to hit a target with said sword would probably break your neck from the force. MC should be really dead. That was just dumb.

Right through between eyes, eh...
I wonder what would lead to it

I feel like I'm missing something important. Multiple times now we're told that the MC has been the only survivor in many battles and how he indiscriminately slaughters those around him. This makes it seem like the MC is some sort of amazing and unkillable warrior. And yet, within four chapters he's been defeated and almost killed three times.

I'm not sure if there's a disconnect in my reading of the story or if the author is doing a really poor job of building a story.

@Panma I took it that it was their fate to kill him, so his curse 'ate' that fate (meaning they couldn't kill him, so he killed them easily while they were reeling about their failure). And presumably, as soon as the owner of the eaten fate died, his curse got hungry again (since the fate left the world completely) and could trigger on the next one. Occasionally picking out his allies as well (he was fated to die in a battle three years hence, but now he got killed right away). Given his fighting style and how he didn't seem to know about his superhuman healing abilities, it might be that most kills around him was actually friendly fire somehow..?

Anyway, then this girl came along, fated to be killed by him. And when that fate disappeared, she did not disappear, hence his curse is still masticating on that fate and not snacking on anyone else. Meaning that suddenly he has to fight completely on his own. (And apparently he's so happy about 'not everyone around him dies right away' that he tries to avoid killing people, which might also make things harder upon him.)

@Tamerlane I was thinking the same thing. It was really awkward and silly. It was like the artist just really really likes the imagery of cool heroic character with a blade clenched between his teeth and just had to find some spot to draw it. Really did not fit the scene in any way.
