thanks for the chapter!
cohabitation already? Terra is on the move! she really didn't want the ship to be their only connection so she's offering Die a place since she is currently homeless.
also, i'm hoping this decision still bites the chief in the ass. i think there should still be questions on his capability specially since the contest was broadcasted. would also like to see other clan heads sharing their opinion on what happened.
My impression here is that the "compromise" serves everyone for the time being. The other clan chiefs were happy to kick Xeon while he was down in a "haha some girls caught a bigger fish than you" way, but they're implied to be just as bad or worse with their patriarchal beliefs. Xeon probably leaned on that to convice the Review Board that
any result that came from acknowledging the terms of the contest was going to lead to instability (diplomatic, if he took Terra's boat away; social, if he acknowledges Diode and Terra as fishermen). So they did what a bunch of old politicians in a bind would do: pretend something inconvenient never happened and hope the cause goes away by itself.
Of course, it's not, and Terra is quickly awakening to the fact that the bond she shares with Diode is special. I think on a deeper level, she realizes that she has the same spark with Diode that her parents did with each other. It's wonderful to see Terra reject both Diode and the Review Board giving her the opportunity to "be normal", and make the choice to move her relationship with Diode beyond just business.
