Gotta know how to correctly mimic the movements of a small animal to get a cat's attention.

Just waving the toy around won't cut it. Gotta tease them with some slight pauses in movement, then mix in some slight jittery movements.

With that kind of toy I like to think of it as a sinking lure. You want moments of stationary the quick movement back to stationary slow movement. The goal is to provide different stimuli to goad their hunting instinct.
