I was so shocked when I read that it‘s ending. Why?! The story isn‘t even close to ending. They need to go to Mars, it has been teased so long! I‘ve always thought the manga ends with Mutta and Hibito taking the first steps on Mars as first humans in history (epilogue chapter back on earth to wrap up everything).

This is gonna be a rushed ending no matter how you slice it. So disappointing. The story already took a dip in quality after Mutta finished the astronaut program, but this is just…. bad.

currently there is 42 volumes out and every volume for this manga has 9 chapters, currently there are 8 chapters without a volume so next chapter would complete volume 43 making it the "final chapter" but the article also says that the email doesnt say that volume 43 is the last volume. usually mangas also end way before the last volume is published.

So i really wonder what they mean by "final chapter" because i really doubt next chapter will be the last one. maybe they just mean final chapter to complete volume 43 and this whole thing is a huge misunderstanding.

i thought about that too but usually the authors tell you in the previous chapter that the next chapter is the last one so.
then again, the last volume of a manga always comes out way after the manga actually ended.
