The author may use it in the future or it was just an unused panel in the past. We'll see.
I feel like there's been a miscommunication here, I'm aware that the panel that got posted on X is a new one, I never said that panel was from chapter 82? I'm saying that the last time we saw Riku's sex buddy (in chapter 82) she gave him a bad glare.
The panel in question literally just got used in the raw chapter that just dropped.

Which makes me think that this could really be it for Riku, his clothes also seem more light compared to last time and even though he saw Ueno and Moka he didn't try approaching them.
I haven't translated the raw text so it's possible that Riku doing this with his sex buddy is trying to experience what Ueno is having so he can try and win Moka back one last time but somehow I don't see it.

Man, I'm not sure what think about chapter 97. Not the outcome I expected for a certain emo character...
The chapter begins with Riku's sex partners asking him why he deleted their contact numbers. When it was Riku's artistic fuck buddy turn, she asked if he's being too selfish for doing that. Riku, looking as emo as ever, simply apologized before walking away to reminisce his time with Moka and reflecting what Ueno told him previously during their last encounter.
Riku decided to venture to Umeyama University to see what Ueno and Moka are currently doing, which it took him little effort for him to do that. He trailed the couple to an alleyway and was completely shocked to see Moka acting like a dom to Ueno while giving him a handjob.
As Riku listened behind the scenes, Moka told Ueno not to cum as they're abstaining from cumming/ having sex for a week to have the best possible sex ever and to continue their development. Eventually Moka stopped, which caused Ueno to plead to Moka for them to go to a hotel room to have sex right now. Well, first off, even though I expected Moka to act like this eventually, it still shocks my mind seeing a seemingly sweet, wholesome, innocent and adorable maiden like Moka turn into a massive lewd beast.
( Moka's right. She really did become (sex) crazy..lol)
Seeing Moka with such lustful facial expressions and expressing such raunchy things to Ueno makes me completely speechless. Moka's sex scenes with Riku vs. her recent sex scenes with Ueno is truly a night and day difference on the way she acts. I do enjoy it however since I love the trope of seemingly innocent, pure-hearted people are either secretly massive sexual deviants or eventually their switch got flipped during sex to become one, lol. I definitely, definitely didn't expect the fuck buddy to program Riku to solve the problem by herself like that! Jeez, she's a bit extreme, isn't she? Good thing Riku's fuck buddy never had a sexual relationship with Ueno, otherwise she would've 100% peg Ueno, lol. If this truly solves Riku's issues, it does feel like an abrupt solution and ending to his storyline...but hey, at least Riku got a happy ending with his fuck buddy( or lover now) because prior to this chapter, I wasn't even sure he was going to get one in the first place...ah well...

At the most, after chapter 97, there's 7 more chapters left in the latest volume. They could trim a chapter or two, but who knows.

Ya know the thought I had since we saw a book end to Riku's story out of no where, that those 7 stories could be closing up the bully trio's stories somehow. IDK what they have planned for Kanako, but maybe Chisaki finds a new toy and Tsubomi a proper boyfriend

If we can get a glimpse of the bully trio's new boyfriends or uh, 'slave' for Chisaki's case, that would be neat.
Maybe Kanako will find a prince-looking woman in the future to fulfill her fairytale partner beyond Chisaki.
For Tsubomi's case, I always assume Tsubomi might date one of Ueno's friends from the tennis club by series end, but she had very little if any interactions with them on screen, so who knows. Of course, she might not date anyone despite her best efforts and still remain a proud virgin by series end, lol.
Chisaki is an interesting case since I want to see which person managed to excite her sexually beyond Ueno. It should be at least someone with a cute looking face. Maybe a femboy, who knows lol. Also I want to see Chisaki playing the guitar again and to see how that would impact her.
Beyond that, we should have time to see the cultural festival, so maybe everything I mentioned above would be resolved by festival end, if the mangaka is planning to do the cultural festival after chapter 97. We should also get one more chapter involving Hina interacting to Ueno/Moka. A final earthshattering sex scene between Moka and Ueno is a given, especially to see how would their inner selves react to their current awakening. The sex scene alone would take 2 chapter minimum to resolve.
Finally, a time skip would be neat to see. After all, Moka did promise Chisaki that they will smoke together when she turns 20 so I want to see at least that moment in the future(unless Chisaki quits smoking by then, lol).

The cultural festival chapter is finally here.
( Probably the closest yuri moment we will get between Chisaki and Moka)
Seeing Chisaki and Moka smoke a cigarette is the perfect cumulation of their unlikely friendship. Being best friends with your boyfriend's former tormentor is incredible enough as it is but Moka does have a big heart and an open-mind to let the past be the past, regardless of what happened. They do have good chemistry, and I'm pleased to see the scene of them smoking a cigarette together. I'm also glad Chisaki found a newfound purpose in life after preforming. Out of all the members of the bully trio, she is the one person I was unsure of the most throughout the story on how she will change but music is a good avenue to find purpose in life.
However, for Moka's sake, she better not inherit Chisaki's smoking habit. Hina would be so disappointed. 😅

Meanwhile, Chisaki was smoking a cigarette away from the festival when Moka approached her. Moka didn't expect Chisaki to attend the festival. Chisaki claimed she only showed up to see Tsubomi and Kanako, but she quickly recanted by telling Moka that she actually loves festivals. Whenever Chisaki go somewhere with big crowds, she always thinks to herself how to get everyone to understand who she is.
Later on the festival, there was a segment that allowed everyone to walk on the stage to perform. Takeo ( Ueno's goatee friend) made a comment how no one from the group is preforming. Moka told the group that she's stepping away to watch the segment because her best friend is preforming. Ueno realized that Moka was talking about Chisaki and he followed her to the stage area, just in time to see Chisaki to preform " Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson.
( Easily the coolest moment from Chisaki).
After she performed, Chisaki walked off the stage. Moka chased after her and quickly caught up with Ueno following behind because she felt like Chisaki would leave the festival. Chisaki looked at Ueno and told him that she finally found a new way of living. Chisaki told the couple that after she finished smoking her cigarette, she will head home. Moka stopped her and brought out the cigarette pack Chisaki handed to her some time ago. Moka isn't 20 yet but she still wants to smoke one with Chisaki. They then went to an area that nobody usually passes through.
