I mean even if it goes the Eito-route in the end; the first chapter pre-transformation had Keisuke blush when Eito caught them and the "I'd totally fall for him if I were a girl" line. Could easily be there to say something was always there underneath even if Keisuke never really thought too deeply on it before.

I just dont think most people think "I'd fall for him/her if I were a girl/boy", ya know? It almost feels like the first stage in realizing something more but just not quite getting there. So the fact the line was there before the wish could be important.

So I dont think the body change is the only reason/explaination if that route happens.
I don't entirely disagree, though that comment can be innocuous as well (more so foreshadowing of the plot, obviously). I don't disagree though - sexuality is incredibly confusing at that age if you're non-binary. It's easy to figure out me like opposite sex, but anything outside of that it's just ???? until you can further understand yourself.

Oh god the "I'd fall for them if I was born different" is like one of the biggest bi/gay flag, recently a friend told me when younger they did think "life would have been easier if I was born a girl"... and yeah they are trans and now know it :kek: , not even the only transfem I know that got this exact tough younger...
Since you brought up LGBT stuff, I feel like I finally say something that's been on my mind about this story. And it very much out of left field and not with a ton of supporting evidence. But also hard to dismiss out of hand as a theory.

But I've been thinking for a while now the possibility Eito isn't cis and outright envies Keisuke on some level. It'd explain his possibility hostility to Noel, being abandoned growing up as guys and girls are herded into separate worlds that only meet romantically. His intense fear of losing Keisuke to that wotld now. Also Eito seemed shockingly prepared to help with Keisuke's first period.
And yeah, that intense glower this chapter at being reminded about the gender wall placed between him and Keisuke. A wall that is, as someone pointed out, rather cruel and stupid to impose on two friends given Keisuke is still a guy on the inside. But that kind of smoldering at just being reminded of the wall even existing (and thus which side of it you're on) ... well. I'll just say I'd seen that before and not usually from cis folk.

Of course all this is contradicted by the fact he knows exactly how Keisuke got turned into a girl and it wouldn't be that hard to make a visit to Tobi's shrine himself. Or perhaps that could still happen and Eito's just not ready for that.

Pretty cool way to read the story, you right it may not be exactly that but it still an interesting take and would be very cool to read if it happen to be true

I think Eito was in love with Kei from the start. Kei joked about how frustrating it was that boys couldn't be touchy-feely without getting accused of BL(gay). Eito agreed with an upset look on his face, probably because he really does like Eito. It's also why he hates Noel, jealous that she'll take Kei away from him.

Kei might like Eito, but be unwilling to consider it so that way they aren't seen as less manly. In contrast, Eito knows that he likes Kei, but didn't want to jeopardize his close relationship with them. Now that gender norms have pulled them apart, Eito might come to see dating as the easier way for them to stay close if Kei will have him.

Things will probably end with Kei realizing that she wants to be friends with Noel like she was with Eito, while dating Eito instead of Noel. I don't think Eito or Noel like each other in that way, so it probably won't end in the rare poly relationship. Kei's arc will be about her realizing that she doesn't have to be the masculine ideal (or a man at all), while realizing that she can date Noel or Eito regardless of gender. Noel and Eito like Kei, but I think Eito likes her more, so Noel will concede in the end.

If this follows the usual bog standard formula for this stuff (man I can't believe I've read enough of these to realize there's a formula) that's definitely the way it'll go yeah. Though it'd be really cute to see this one take the swerve of just having them all hold hands and date each other, 10/10
