@AlphaGriffin I mean, I doubt it. There's a lot going against the idea but there's always the possibility. For one, MC's father chose Pheonix as his disciple, over Moon Byeong, because of his good behavior. Second, Pheonix seems to imply that there is more to MC's father's betrayal, it's likely that his father just went AWOL because he didn't want to follow some corrupt government plan. Third, Pheonix does seem to be betting a lot on MC here, just by letting him live but also grow stronger in a harsh environment. Though, again, anything can happen and there's always the possibility. For all we know, Pheonix might have even framed MC's dad and wants MC's powers too.
