I felt that. One day in a class this guy just looked at me and started accusing me saying "Hey, you read doujinshi, don't you?" like it was some kind of taboo and I just told him what doujinshi means. We weren't even talking so he was probably just doing it for fun.
How in the absolute fuck does this guy have 500 followers???
500 followers on social media is not a big deal and not hard to believe. Well that's what I think because it's not specified what site he's on.
I know teenagers who get hundreds of followers from just a couple of posts about their school and same for artists who post drawings of a popular new thing getting even more. He probably got people interested in his art and stuff over a few years.
Also just because you have 500 followers on social media doesn't mean all of them would look at your posts or even know you. A few thousand would be more normal to be considered established.
But if it's on a more art-specific platform then it would be more impressive but still not big.
Sucks how follower counts make people crazy.
