I look forward to seeing what our lovely Empress does to get her Emperor off the scent of the Mystery Palace Smut Writer. Maybe she can just say "oh we found out it was some poor servant girl trying to make extra money to care for her sick mother" or something, and then say she handled it all already and there's no need to look into it further.
I also think it could reasonably be handled if she came clean, assuming that nothing truly sensitive was "leaked" via her previous work that could spell actual trouble for the Ruling Pair. I honestly think the Emperor might find it funnier than anything at a certain point, and A-Lan would get a kick out of it, I imagine.
The longer she hides it, though, the more likely the Dowager ends up catching wind and uses it against the two of them in some fashion. Which now that I say that, I kinda wonder if that's a plot line for the future.

I wonder if the Empress is going to throw someone under the rickshaw here. I don't think the Emperor will think it the worse when she inevitably finds out, but I can't fault the Empress's thought process.
