I continue to be caught off guard by the repeated shorter stories spanning just one or two chapters but I can't complain, def feels old school in a fun way lol

For how short and out-of-the-blue this mini-arc was, its resolution was not half bad.

I hope Under Doctor finds a way to have more interesting arcs, because it is straddling the line between slice-of-life and serious drama right now. I do not have a problem with these mini-arcs being largely standalone, but they do get repetitive when the structure is the same. This is especially the case when the doctor part of the story is basically omitted, making stakes absent from most pages. Shuli's doctor chapter was neat because of its freshness.

Another solution that I prefer more is just building up longer arcs, with multiple elements having some degree of interplay. Haiji being a uber-talented doctor makes this a bit difficult to accomplish without introducing the action/crime side of the story, but surely Under Doctor can figure something out, right?

I'm still waiting for this series to find its identity. It does have many things going for it, after all. If this keeps up with no signs of change, though, it might slowly lose me.
