I'm glad that Under Doctor is focusing more on medical things. This mini-arc was rather basic in its setup, but it did characterize Haiji better: he's aware of his somewhat silly and arrogant attitude, which arises out of a need to put on a brave face when dealing with matters of life and death. When it matters, he can keep himself in check through learning from past mistakes.
