The first blow was in Kuro's side tho, it was what cut the cable for the invisibility and Kuro's intestines in the process.
And regarding Yamada, it's probably a combination of both, they were many people in that facility but only Yamada was the one left standing (As far as we know). But the thing is, how can NIN create a copy that is big enough and strong in such a short period of time, because they need the reinforcements FAST if they want to stand a chance against UN

it was meant to be read "the impact of that single blow" rather than "the impact of the first blow"
