@minar I think...maybe you're the one who needs to read the chapter again? He wasn't remorseful about killing her, but that her death was "caused" by him. Um...excuse me? It wasn't "because of you", you were the one directly killed her.
So you see, his words caused a huge misunderstanding and that's why I think many readers don't like the male lead. Including the fact that the girl he killed seemed to have no clue about what was happening. That's the biggest reason.
Well, I admit that there may be a reason that led up to him having to kill her. Maybe whatever he did or said changed her in some way? And that in turn, caused him to have no choice in killing her. I think it'll be interesting in eventually finding out why he did kill her. In any case, he was the one who directly slit her throat with his sword.
If that wasn't all, he then goes and tries to kill an innocent eye witness, who is only there to save the students. *rolls eyes* He said he heard her footsteps. Then why couldn't he just quickly leave before she saw him or at least cover his face first? But he just stood there.
With that said, the female lead is just as bad. Thinking about how the murderer looks hot just as she sees him? It's fine if she thought about it after leaving the forest. Like: "Now that I think about it, that murderer was extremely beautiful. I've never seen any male like him before!" But...she goes and thinks about his appearance at a murder scene the moment she sees him... *facepalms*
Let's not even talk about her supposedly being 'strong.' Okay, let's say that male lead is way stronger than her and that's why he was able to grab her sword, but as someone who knows what her own weakness is, why didn't she bother trying to fix it? If she has weak wrists, she should have been doing some strength training at least. And yet, happy with her current rank, she discards her training and just laze around. She might have been strong when her Father was around, but now she's just weak and lazy.
In the end, since the reason for him killing that girl isn't made clear, my biggest problem isn't the male lead, but the female lead.
