Was this weird TL or just a weird chapter in general?
While I admit that this chapter was a more tricky to translate than others, and that my translation always has room for errors, this chapter was just weird in general too.
What is the thing "everyone in school" is talking about on page3? "Tension" between rumi and akira? thats weird why would people care or suspect anything
That was just Aoi being a drama queen, as you can tell the bubbles for Akira's monologue have perfect rectangular shape, while when Aoi tried to play narrator, her bubbles were rectangular but had a slight round edges.
Also, Akira is rather popular even outside her own classroom, as well as her friendship with Rumi, so at least some people should be able to notice that there's some awkwardness right between her and Rumi that normally is not there. Still, it was mostly just Aoi being a goofball.
And what the fuck is the teacher talking about? She called akira over and then they just apologized to each other and left???
Sonoda(the teacher) called Akira over with the intention to ask her if she wanted to talk to the person who had also contracted the sex-change disease. But Akira always felt slighly uncomfortable by Sonoda, and the expections she felt Sonoda was putting on her, so she took this chance to make it known that she didn't like that, and she could not be the kind of studen she was expecting her to be.
Sonoda felt embarrassed because Akira was right, and now she probably thinks that Akira wants nothing to do with her, so asking her to talk to the other sex-changed person was out of the window. But since Akira said that she still wants to rely on her when the time comes, she now knows that Akira doesn't hate her, and that the opportunity to bring up the topic was still there. So she did, albeit rather embarrassed.
Overall, the interaction was weird, but it was clear at least in my opinion.
Not anytime soon I'm afraid lol.
Srry for the rant, hope that clears most of the doubts!
