While I do agree with the sentiment, I will say this much: A fairly large number of times this scenario is played out, the guy actually had no intention of such a relationship and it's mostly pushed on him by the girl. Despite this, it's usually the guy who gets called out as a creep without even a mention of how the girl looking at her father/brother figure in that manner and pushing such a relationship on him as creepy.
Of course, he could just decline the relationship but it really gets irritating when the reverse happens and the older woman is not also treated as a creep even when she really did intentionally raised her future husband.

It's really the author who is the creep in these situations, they write the girl to be the one who falls in love with her caretaker to go:

"See it's the girl that fell in love with her step-dad so it's ok👍"
