Chacha being Yayoi was a good twist, that happened a while back. We knew something was up, but this is more than I expected.

When the voice said, "we are the good gas", I was kinda disappointed because a good version of the bad thing seemed a little boring for this series, but turns out it was even worse lol. So that was pretty good.

Chapters 60-64. The first 5 chapter arc. Also where we meet Chacha, I think.

Oh fuck. Oh that's really good. Chacha got taken over by Yayoi so long ago.

So given we know that Yayoi adopted Yume after killing Yume's blood related mother. Do you think that "Yayoi" used to possess Yume's mom and set up that murder to possess Yayoi. Explaining why Yayoi would just adopt the kid of the woman she murdered.

Unless she murdered her specifically so she could adopt Yume. For her ability. I'm pretty sure Yayoi is associated with Q, and they knew about Yume already.

hopefully the baldies come to his rescue. dont think author would leave it on a cliff hanger if he was actually dead, nor show the baldies about to go into his office right after the mcs do

I agree, I think it's likely he'll be rescued by the brothers. At least, they will see Chacha there so the culprit is identified.

The conclusion of Chapter 71 is where she goes missing.
She then shows up again in Chapter 96 and she's clearly not all there...
By the time she shows up again in Chapter 105, something has clearly happened.

In retrospect, this isn't hidden at all, lol. Yume outright says "Is this really the same Chacha from before?" It's just that with all of the subplots going on like parents and universe-switching, I guess we lost track.

She shows up again in Chapter 136, but she's her "normal" self. But in Chapter 138, she has a possessed moment that even Yagi notices.

In Chapter 155, we find out Yayoi killed Yume's parents...

Also, the entire arc from Chapters 161-163 is involved with Chacha, as revealed by the end of 163.

Oh fuck... that vortex the guy presses his face up against is what Yume saw in Yayoi's face.

Might be a coincidence, might not...
Unsurprisingly, the entire arc of Chapters 164-168 is to do with Yayoi Kokuryou. I recommend re-reading it from the start of 164. Yagi literally says "This is my first and last request to you. I will find Yayoi Kokuryou."

As for Yagi, RIP. I knew he had a death flag as soon as he said he was determined to find out what happened to Chacha. Turns out she got possessed by Yayoi, huh.

Its basically saying that it was a naive belief that all they had to do was drive out the bad gas and the town would be saved. But what happened was that the new gas was even worse and the only way to save the town would be to uproot evil completely. Which is not easy . An allegory as to us scapegoating the problems of the world to one person or organization and thinking if we got rid of that, then the world would be fine again but it's not that simple

Also I just realized cha-cha has the weird gas face that all the town inhabitants have too. So yayoi is probably one of the gas factions too. Either the gas that was driven out, or a third faction

It's the one where Chacha made her first appearance in the series, when they went camping near the lake in the woods. The gray in that job has the ability to bodysnatch other people, which throws her detective skills and logic out of whack.

So which one happened to Chacha:
1. Chacha found this town first as a thanks to Yume & Nagomi but got body swapped by Yayoi, or
2. Yayoi got in to Chacha with Q's help.
