Ah, so it's probably one of those "the mold was actually the good thing trying to keep this thing from maturing into something super evil" stories.

Super weird they bring up hamas dad in a 2nd chapter (usually it's 1st or 3rd part they mention stuff like this) so I'm guessing he might show up in the last part.

No idea how the bug works but it seems it turns into humans ? The parasite works against it the same way it attacks humans and also can mimic voices . Guessing it dopplegangs people. The nurse that fed the professor will probably be important too
