OK, the boss of this job has been conning gray workers to be sacrificial lambs for the restless spirits of the Takaidzu Village. The restless spirits been grabbing and killing them for them to come back...or they're trapped by the restless spirits but I'm going with the former because they mention bringing back the other two victims...K need a smooth brain to explain this one.
I have no idea what this one was about or what was happening with the workers or.why they needed tompray

Aparently they changed the fujiyoshi villagers into takaidzu villagers. And takaidzu are the oppressor which got killed by fujiyoshi when they tried to kill emK need a smooth brain to explain this one.

So... apparently the dead Takadizu villagers have the story that they were the ones under the Fujiyoshi villagers, and so they performed a ritual to sacrifice the living Fujiyoshi villagers to come back to life, essentially switching places. But the end of the chapter says that they're basically lying and the Takadizu villagers were the ones who were above the Fujiyoshi villagers, but the Fujiyoshi villagers revolted and killed off the Fujiyoshi villagers.
Our main duo survived this job basically because they were unrelated to the villages' conflict, I guess? And what exactly happened with the other two workers, the first chapter shows the woman dead but she's alive now? And I don't think they were related to the villagers either, but now they're a part of the Takadizu village
Huh, ok, that makes more sense. What happened to the other two is that the villagers realised that they were unrelated to the conflict and so after having been ritually killed to allow the villagers to be reborn, the villagers instead allowed them to be reborn as themselves and become part of the village.
I think the point is more that we don't know, we have two versions of the village story and both sides have been shown to do shady shit. Everyone who truly knew is dead and people are gullible so we can't know for sure which story is true.and also that our two main characters get to live only because they're okay taking the Takaidzu villagers for their words because they're willling to be honest and gullible.
Absolutely read it as "fujoshi" village at firstThere's a word for what those statues are doing, and it sure as hell isn't "piggyback".
Noi know there is no way the story continue because it will make the story less mystifies and not making reader emotion move but i hope all those takadzu villagers get some punishment
I think the question is , if the evil clan was dead then why did the "good" clan even bring gray workers to sacrifice ? So even the good clan is doing shady shit as they're OK sacrificing innocent ppl for whatever scheme they're doing so it's more likely both clans were assholesWhat the Takaidzu boss there said was basically bullshit and they were the actual tops, not the bottoms. When they tried to cull the Fujiyoshis so they can reduce the amount of food they have to provide for them, the Fujiyoshis instead rebelled and killed them in return. It is likely that the Fujiyoshi then escaped but the Takaidzu still managed to capture one of them, regain a physical body, and start the grave visiting ritual to lure unsuspecting descendants of the Fujiyoshi although like in the case of Kayama and Shimohama, they can basically just use any random person, and can even kind of reverse the process.
Perhaps due to their mighty sense of entitlement even in death, the Takaidzu crew still managed to manifest themselves in this world and lure descendants of the Fujiyoshi to sacrifice them. The sacrifice in turn allows the Takaidzu to gain a physical body again. The plot outline and the fact that one of the Takaidzu made it a point to play the victim because he knows there's a camera recording them terrorizing Kayama is interesting, author was probably trying to say something about how history is always written by the winners.
