Yeah same, it seems like a timeskip but idk if it's Yume talking to Hama or the other way around. Unless they were talking to Mariko tho i doubt that lol.wow okay, not a bad arc I suppose and the pedophile got what was coming to him. Though... what are they talking about afterwards? like "...you found your parents more of less huh?" what? when did that happen? and whose parents are they talking about in this moment? HUH??? I feel like I missed something.
I think it happened while they were trying to run away from the white space, the place shows illusions after all. The Mariko we saw either died after being disconnected from Glümfried (the mosquito monster) or was never real in the first. The fact it was skipped over is weird, but the author generally doesn't show their parents too.wow okay, not a bad arc I suppose and the pedophile got what was coming to him. yeahwtf are those balloonsI think the translator mixed up some pronouns, since Japanese doesn't really have pronouns in the first place. I presume the "you found your parents" was meant more as "you found her (Marie's) parents". It also happened in Chapter 121, when Hama was looking at a photo of her and her dad. Pretty sure it was Yume who spoke the line "A photo of my father?" so I think it was meant to be "your father". (Note, I don't speak Japanese, just making some guesses on my limited knowledge of how it works.)
As for Sakie and her grandmother: Sakie got spirited away to the boundary area by the evil bug in place of her grandmother. I do wonder why sometimes people can return if someone else takes their place, and what was up with seeing the grandma's head like that.
Sakie (the granddaughter) was still stuck in the other dimension. Meanwhile, despite being in the real world, the grandma wanted to return to the shining field. So, I am unsure what kind of happy ending you mentioned in the post. At least the MCs are still alive, and the pedo guy is stuck with the demon lord. It's a pretty happy ending in the end, the girl got to comeback and the grandma switched back places with her granddaughter.
And I guess the 'you found your parents' thing is about the disappeared dad? Since it say the first time someone came back, it was a little girl because her dad had switched place with her so I guess that's where the MC's dad went? Maybe she saw him there offscreen?
The old lady was in the park after dark so obviously she got spirited back and her granddaughter came back, that's how it works.Sakie (the granddaughter) was still stuck in the other dimension. Meanwhile, despite being in the real world, the grandma wanted to return to the shining field
Looks like a one-sided predation to me.Yup that's what love will do to ya, makes even a pedo fight an evil god
with this maybe there are two or 3 beings there? one that spirit away, the mosquito and the the balloon thingy. because the pedo didn't specify how long it has been it might much more recent than we thought (because he lied about being her brother and looked much or less the same with the flashback) so i'd like to assume that mariko safely came back to her parent . i'd say the good ones got to play on the shining place and the horrible one got captured by the mosquito and i hope the grandma managed to switch back with sakie because she didn't deserve thatThe ending dialogue about the parents confused me as well. What happened to Mariko in the end? Were they talking about Mariko's parents???
Was the grandma-faced balloon just a random tactic to add more supernatural horror to this arc or a red herring for the true baddie??
Also - whatever got our protags wasn't the same monster that got Sakie, I think. Or at least, the protags went through a different kind of spiriting away.
The last panel of her (in the previous chapter) had shadows that looked like a face.
(Plus the weird black filament thing at the very top)
(Same weirdness with the shadow and black thing at the first chapter of the arc. The park should be closed by then, so there shouldn't be that many people-shaped shadows. Plus, none of them are connected to anything - they'd be floating in the air.)
(The black thing seems to be the monster's proboscis)
Meanwhile, the shadows when Hama and Yume disappeared looked more normal.
